So Who To Choose...

“So you choose.” I said to Susan. “I know who I prefer but I’d like you to make the decision.”
This conversation came after Susan and I had spent most of the day interviewing three local agents. The three were not chosen at random but rather, I undertook a statistical analysis of the best performing firms. I thought this was a good place to start from a very broad field.

Tony was not a glad-hander or fast talker but rather, the discussion was quiet, rational and focussed. Tony was sincere and his experience and knowledge of the local market and its tiers were evident. He had done his research before the meeting and was able to speak with authority and confidence on the benefits and potential challenges in bringing our house to market as the COVID-19 shutdown took hold. His advice was to go ahead immediately as many vendors had pulled out of the market leaving a pool of unsatisfied potential buyers and fewer properties to choose from.

It was fortunate indeed that Susan responded with “Let’s go with Tony. I like him and I know he’ll do a good job. I can’t confidently say that about the others.” I say fortunate because if she had chosen another firm there would have been a disagreement.

When you chose Tony you get Tony and his partner Jo. Both consummate professionals. Their focus is on achieving the sale that you want. They did a great job of prequalifying and pre-positioning potential buyers. They listened to what we said but more importantly, listened very carefully to everything the potential buyers said. Neither Tony nor Jo set unrealistic expectations. They both attended the photo shoots and all viewings and made recommendations and minor adjustments to styling to ensure the house was presented at its best.

Susan and I received comprehensive feedback on all inspections. They provided details of the next steps they intended to pursue with each one.
